This story took about a month to write, then I had to type it onto my computer. Thank God it is over! I have another one I am working on it's a series and is very long! I am done with it and in the process of typing it on my cpu and sending it to gossamer! So I hope that you live this story. So without further ado...
"Boo!" Fox Mulder nearly jumped out of his skin as his six and a half year old son stuck his hand around the corner. "There you are!" Fox exclaimed picking up his son and throwing him over his shoulder. The little boy squealed with delight as his father carried him down the stairs. "What are your mother and I going to do with you, Adam? Your brother and sister were at the table the minute your mother called them!" "I wasn't hungry!" Adam exclaimed. "Uh huh!" Fox said as they reached the dining room, "I found him!" Fox took Adam off his shoulder and made him sit down across from his five and half year old sister, Mandy and eight year old brother Rich. Fox then took his seat at the end of the table. "Adam is a bad boy! Poopyhead!" Mandy exclaimed. "Mandy!" Everyone turned at the stern voice that had emerged from the kitchen. Dana Mulder sat the last pot of food on the table then sat down opposite of Fox. "What have I told you about name calling? It is not nice. Apologize." Dana said. "Sorry Adam," the young girl lisped. "It's okay - now give me food!" Adam exclaimed reaching for the nearest pot. "Whoa! Hang on there kiddo!" Fox exclaimed, "let your mother or I help you!" Fox and Dana got up and helped their wonderful children get dinner. As Dana helped Mandy with her dinner, Mandy asked. "Is little baby hungry?" Then lightly stroked her mom's pregnant stomach. "Of coarse she's not hungry! She's still inside mom!" Rich exclaimed to his sister, "idiot!" "Rich!" Dana exclaimed giving him the "Watch-out look." "Rich, what did your mother just sit here and fuss at Mandy for? Name-calling. Now you apologize!" Sorry Mandy."
Every night Fox and Dana switch off jobs. One night one would bathe the kids and tuck them in while the other one did the dishes. Tonight was Fox's turn to bathe the kids. When Fox was finished, all the kids set down in front of the T.V. to watch their nightly show, about aliens. Fox had just shrugged at Dana when they became interested in the show a year ago. "Guess they inherited my likes dear!" He had said.
Now as the kids were glued, in front of the television, Fox walks into the kitchen as Dana is finishing the dishes. He walks over to her, puts his arms around her as far as her stomach will allow. He then begins to run kisses up her neck. "Dinner was delicious my love," he whispered into her ear, which caused her to shiver. Dana turned in her husband's arms and put her arms around his neck, but not before drying off her hands. "Thank you my love." Dana smiled then leaned up for a kiss. "Eww! I don't want to see that!" Rich exclaimed as he entered the kitchen. "Then why'd you come in?" Fox joked picking up a dishrag and playfully hitting his son with it. "I got thirsty!" He replied as he began rummaging through the fridge. "Drink water." Dana said turning back to the dishes. "But mom-" "Rich! It is almost your bedtime! You don't need anything carbonated!" "I don't see why we have to have a bedtime on the summer anyway!" Rich exclaimed as he poured him some water. "Why? Because we are your parents and we say so!" Fox said. "Plus, we have to leave a little early in the morning. That is if we want to get to Uncle Charlie's on time." Dana said drying off the last dish, "Fox would you mind tucking the little one's in? I have to call my mom for final preparations for tomorrow." Rich grabbed his glass of water and followed his dad out of the kitchen. "All right you guys! Time for bed!" "Ahh dad! Do we have too?" Adam complained as Fox practically dragged them up the stairs. "Yes you have too."
Fox tucked his daughter in to bed and lightly kissed her forehead. "Goodnight Mandy-mommy will be up in a bit to give her kiss." "I love you daddy," Mandy lisped then was immediately asleep. Fox smiled then carefully made his way out of her room closing the door. Just as Fox turned to go to Rich and Adam's room, Dana appeared at the top of the stairs. "Mandy's waiting for her kiss goodnight," Fox said as they passed one another. Dana made her way to Mandy's room and Fox went to his son's room. As soon as Fox opened the door he was, hit by, two pillows. "Whoops! Sorry dad!" Rich said getting off the bed. Yeah, sorry dad!" Adam said as well. "We're the two of you pillow fighting?" Fox scolded, "how many times have we told you not to rough house?" "What's wrong honey?" Dana said entering the room. Fox help up the pillows and Dana figured it out. "Boys!" The look that Dana gave was absolutely frightening-even to Fox. Goodnight!" Rich and Adam said at the same time and were under the covers of their bed in a heartbeat.
"What did your mom say?" Fox said as they entered their room. "She said not to worry about her, that she decided just to ride on her own. She did not want to stay just for the weekend. I told her that we did not have any choice. Seeing as you have to work, and I am so close to my due date." Well, that is good. So what is this gathering for again?" Dana laughed and then sighed, "How many times do I have to tell you Fox William Mulder-my mom's 60th birthday celebration!" Fox smiled and hugged his wife. "I'm just kidding! How could I have forgot about that? You have reminded me everyday for the past two weeks!"
The next morning, Fox walked out of his room and down the hall. He then saw Rich coming up the steps. "Rich have you seen mom?" he asked. He shook his head 'no' then went into his room. Fox then walked past Mandy's room and saw Dana lying on the floor in a puddle of water. "Rich!" he called out. Rich came out of his room, Adam and Mandy following. "What happened to mommy?" Mandy exclaimed with a frightful look on her face. "Rich! I need you to call 911 and hurry!"
The paramedics arrived fifteen minutes later, and Fox was lucky enough to have caught Maggie before she left for Charlie's'. They were going to have to pos pone on the birthday celebration.
When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor informed Fox that Dana had gone into labor. The only reason that she fainted because she was exhausted - two hours later Heather Kristen came into the world. "You gave us all a big scare." Maggie said to her daughter in her recovery room. "I am so sorry that you did not get your party." "Dana - that was the least of my worries!" Maggie exclaimed. Heather had been about four weeks pre-mature, but luckily, she was ready to go home the same time as Dana.
Heather and Dana have been home for two months - Dana still gets tired and has to lie down but she is getting better. Now we turn to Dana who is feeding Heather in the living room. The house was just the way that she liked it - quiet. Summer had been officially over three weeks ago, which meant for school again. Mandy was in kinder-garden, Adam was in first grade and Rich was in third grade. Fox had started work about six weeks ago. The X-Files were still open and Fox and Dana were still partners. Dana did not have to go back to work for about another month, and even then her workload was going to still be low. They finally had about five more agents in their section with them, so Dana could afford to miss. Fox had five people to choose from to follow a lead or whatever. Dana finished feeding Heather, and then began burping her and she carried her up to the nursery. Dana laid Heather down in her bassinet and made sure the baby monitor was on. School would be out soon, so she headed back down stairs to begin making plans for dinner. Sighing, she left the nursery.
Dinner was just about done when she heard the front door open. The kids have been home for two hours, and Dana had run them out of the kitchen to do their homework. Fox came in to the kitchen and went up to Dana. "Hey," he whispered into her ear. She craned her head back and kissed him hello. "How was your day dear?" Dana asked going to the fridge and pulling out the lettuce. She walked back over to the counter and began cutting the lettuce. "Oh you know - long and slow. I am going to get out of these clothes." "Could you tell the kids dinners almost ready, and to come set the table?" "Sure," Fox replied leaving the room. Dana sighed then continued the cut the lettuce. A few moments later Mandy, Adam and Rich joined her in the kitchen. "What do you want us to set mom?" Rich asked. "Rich and Adam, will you get out the plates, silverware and glasses? Mandy can you help me put the dinner on the table?" As the kids did their chores, Dana went upstairs to bring Heather down. She was not in her room, so Dana went and checked the master bedroom. Fox had changed his clothes and was now playing with Heather. He was spinning her around over her head. Heather was giggling with delight. Fox stopped when he noticed his wife standing in the doorway watching them. "Look Heather! It's mommy!" he exclaimed coming to her. Dana smiled slightly and took Heather into her arms, and Fox put an arm around her as they went back down to the table.
As they began eating dinner, Mandy and Adam began to fuss and bicker back and forth. "Adam! That's my roll!" "No it is not! You are yours!" "Did not!" "Did too!" "Just stop it!" Dana yelled then ran out of the room crying. Mandy and Adam had frightful looks on their faces. "What's wrong with mom dad?" Rich asked. "I think your mom has been under a lot of stress lately." "Why?" Rich questioned. "We'll talk later," Fox said getting up, "Why don't the three of you clean up the kitchen when you finish eating? Leave some food out for you mom." Fox then left to go to his wife.
Dana had run out of the room and into Fox and her bedroom. She is lying on the bed sobbing into the pillow. The door slightly opened. "Dana?" "Leave me alone Fox," she sobbed. Fox went in anyway and closed the door behind him. He slowly walked over to the bed and sat down next to his wife. He drew her close and nestled her face into his chest. "What's wrong honey?" he whispered in to her ear. "I really don't know." She cried truthfully, "Why am I acting like this? I don't yell at my kids like that!" Dana sat up and put her arms around her husband. "Dana do you think there is a possibility that you are suffering from depression - I mean think about it Dana. You have just had a baby that is a newborn, three kids with an active schedule and not to mention me, and the hours I keep at work. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what it is!" "I suppose that would explain why I really like to be alone - also even when two people begin to argue of just have a conversation back and forth it really eats at me and I feel like yelling at them to stop." "I know baby - I've been meaning to talk to you. I have noticed that lately you have been acting a little different. It scares me Dana - I do not want to ever lose you - I know people that have killed themselves because they were so depressed. I just love you so much it hurts and if I was to ever lose you I don't think I could literally take the pain." Dana tightened her grip on her husband and her crying started up again. "Oh honey! I would never do that! I love my family too much, and I love you with all my heart! I'm going to get better Fox - I promise."
Two weeks Later "I am beginning to see a major improvement Mrs. Mulder." Dana's therapist Dr. Abigail Reyes said on her last session, "in about two weeks you feel that you are not improving call me and we'll set up a few more sessions, okay?" "Thank you so much Dr. Reyes. You do not know how much I appreciate this. I was so scared, my husband was scared, and even our children." "Dana, dear, it's common for someone like you to slip into a case of depression as you did. I bet your kids have a real active schedule, not to mention having a new baby and a husband's work hours." Dana smiled then laughed slightly. "That's exactly what my husband said" "Well he was right - now let your family start to see the bright side of you again." Dana thanked Dr. Reyes again then left the office.
Dana pulled her car into the driveway of her home behind her husbands. She got out and walked up the front steps.
Inside the house, Fox turned to the kids. "Okay guys your mom is home. Try your best not to argue with one another. Give her a big hug and kiss once she is settled, but we have to give her time so we can have our old mommy back - okay?" "Yes daddy." They all three said in unison and Heather cooed from her carrier. They then heard the front door open, Dana walked in and hung her coat up in the closet and dropped her key on the table. She turned the corner and entered the living room and saw her family grinning from ear to ear at her. She smiled back and said softly. "Hi." Adam, Rich and Mandy got up from the sofa and went over to her and hugged her. "Hi mommy!" Mandy exclaimed. Dana hugged them back then they went their separate ways. It was then Fox's turn. He got up and went over to her. He put two arms around her and slightly kissed her. She kissed him back then ran her hands on his arms. "I missed you today," he whispered. "I missed you too honey." They smiled at one another then Heather's coos interrupted them. "Hey baby girl! Are you hungry?" Dana took Heather from her carrier and began breast-feeding her. She could feel it - she was slowly coming back to feeling like her old self again - but it was going to take time.
As the weeks progressed, Fox was noticing a major improvement in his wife's behavior. She smiled a lot more, was around him and the kids more, and hardly ever yelled. Even today's events put a big smile on her face. Mandy was turning six years old today and Fox and Dana were throwing her a party with a bunch of school friends. "Are you sure your up to having a house full of kids honey?" Fox asked as they began putting up decorations for the party. "Yeah, I think I'm going to be okay after all. God it got scary for a while, huh?" Fox hung the last streamer then went over to his wife and pulled her into his arms. "I'm just glad to finally have my wife back - my wife that I love more than anything itself. Welcome back love, we've missed you." "It's good to be back and I promise not to let that happen again." "Dana! You couldn't help it that you went into depression! We are all just relieved that you are still alive and safe." Dana smiled up to her husband then stood up and lightly kissed him on the mouth. "I love you Fox Mulder." "And I love you Dana Mulder." They grinned at one another then shared another kiss. Now we turn to Dana who is putting Mandy's hair in pigtails. "Mommy! I am so excited!" The little girl exclaimed with giddiness in her voice. "Because it's your birthday sweetheart?" "Yes! Also I am turning a whole year older!" Dana finished the pigtail then turned her daughter around. "Okay Mandy you are all done! Want to help me make the cupcakes?" Mandy's eyes lit up and she exclaimed, "Yes!"
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Mandy! Happy Birthday to you!
As everyone finished singing Happy Birthday to Mandy, she blew out the candles and made a wish. Dana then took the cake into the kitchen as Fox gave Mandy her first present. In the kitchen, Dana began cutting the cake when her long time friend, Ellen, came in. "My goodness Dana! Let me do that! You go watch your daughter open her presents!" Dana smiled at her friend. "Thanks Ell!" Dana said and patted her shoulder before going to celebrate her daughter's birthday.
Later that afternoon as the party was ending, parents were wondering where their children had gone. Dana and Fox looked around the yard and noticed that all of the little girls and even Adam was gone. "Rich! Have you seen Mandy and her friends!" Dana called out. "Yeah! Mandy and all of her little friends dragged up inside to have a tea party!" At that same instant they heard, "Mom! Dad!" Dana and Fox turned around and then saw their son dressed in a pink dress. Dana spit out the tea that was in her mouth and started bursting out laughing. Fox joined her. "This is not funny!" he yelled. "Yes it is!" Rich said in fits of laughter. "Adam - sweetheart, what happened?" "Mandy and her friends dragged me upstairs to play tea party and the next thing I know I am being held down by six little girls and they are putting a dress on me! Some of those girls were strong!" "Come on baby, let's get you out of that dress!" Dana said taking her son inside. After they went inside, Mandy came back out and Fox said in a warning tone. "Mandy Michelle Mulder!" Mandy knew that she was in trouble.
After all of Mandy's friends had left, Fox and Dana sat down to have a little talk with their daughter. "Mandy, what ever possessed you to dress Adam in a dress today?" Dana asked shifting Heather to her other knee. "It was his own fault!" Mandy retorted in a lisp. "Now, why is that?" Fox asked. "He's almost two years older than me! The fact that he was held down by a bunch of seven-year-old girls is very sad!" "Mandy! That's not nice!" Dana scolded. "But - " "But nothing!" Dana said, "Now go to your room and I want you to stay there until you can apologize for humiliating your brother today." "Mommy!" Mandy whined, "it's my birthday!" "Mandy Michelle! Do as your mother says and go to your room!" Mandy stood up and stormed out of the room. A few seconds later they heard the door to her room slam shut. "She's pretty prissy for her age," Fox said standing up. Dana stood up and sat Heather on her hip. "Yeah well, she got that trait from her father." Dana said then caught her husband's eye and grinned. Fox went over to his wife and hugged her with the baby in her arms. "She may have gotten my prissiness, but she inherited your stubbornness." Dana reached up and put a hand on the back of his neck, as if she was going to kiss him. As he bent his head closer to her lips, she pinched the back of his neck. "Ouch! Crap Dana! That hurt!" She laughed then turned with Heather and walked up the stairs.
Later that night as Fox and Dana were walking towards their room, a conversation made them stop. "Again, Adam, I am sorry for the way that my friends acted. I seriously thought that you would fight back. I never expected up to win like that." "It's all right Mandy. I forgive you, just make sure this doesn't get around school, I want to keep my manhood." Fox laughed only soft enough for Dana to hear and smiling they headed back to their room.
Everyone was getting excited! It was only two and a half weeks until Christmas. Heather was now eleven months old and was completely walking on her own. Today was a happy day, they were going to get their Christmas tree. "Dad! Will a jacket and a sweater be enough?" Rich asked his dad. Fox pulled Heather's sweater over her head then turned to his son. "Yes that should be enough - go make sure your brother and sister have on enough - don't forget gloves!" Fox turned back to his daughter and began putting her jacket on her. She smiled and laughed at him. "Dada!" She then patted him on the face. Fox smiled back then picked up his daughter and spun her around as she squealed with delight. "Fox! Are the two of you ready?" Dana yelled from downstairs. "Yes, dear!" he yelled sitting Heather back down to zip up her jacket, then picked her up again. "Come on girl! Let's go and see mama!" Heather laughed and said, "Mama!" They walked downstairs just as Dana put Mandy's jacket on. She finished then turned to her husband. She was wearing wind pants, big ski jacket, and gloves. Her hair was up in a loose ponytail.. "Hey baby girl!" Dana exclaimed. Heather squealed out a 'mama' and reached for Dana. Dana took Heather in her arms then yelled up to her sons. "Rich! Adam! Let's go!" Rich and Adam came running down the stairs. "Don't run!" Fox exclaimed picking up Mandy as they walked to their car.
"Mommy, it's cold!" Mandy shivered as they waited for their tree to be loaded onto their Explorer. "I know honey. Daddy is almost done helping the man load the tree." Dana said pulling Heather closer to her chest and putting an arm around Mandy to keep her warm. Fox finished with the tree then went back and joined his family. "You already to go?" Dana nodded down to Mandy who was huddled against her leg and Fox smiled. "Come on girl! Let's get you in the car." Fox picked up Mandy and carried her to the car.
When they arrived back at their house, Dana glanced in the back and noticed that all four children were asleep. She nudged Fox and he looked back and smiled. They got out of the car and each carried a child on their hips. It was almost their bedtime so they went up the stairs and placed them in their own beds. Fox and Dana then went back down stairs and began setting up the tree. As Fox worked putting the tree in its stand, Dana sat cross-legged on the floor guiding him. "It's leaning a little more to the right - there that's good - wait too much - okay! Perfect!" Fox got off the stool and Dana stood up as they both gazed at the tree. "That's a nice tree! You did a good job honey!" Dana exclaimed kissing his cheek, "the kids are out of school for the next two weeks! We'll decorate it tomorrow!" "Yeah and I talked to Skinner yesterday. We have the next two weeks off as well." Dana nodded then started turning the lights off so they could go to bed. She finished the last night then would of screamed at what her husband had done it he had not covered her mouth. He had picked her up and was carrying her up the stairs. "Fox! What are you doing?" Dana asked in a demanding whisper. He leaned down and kissed her with passion. "I am putting my lovely wife to bed." They reached their room and Fox held Dana securely as he closed and locked their bedroom door.
Dana woke up the next morning to the smell of coffee. She was extremely glad that none of the kids had bothered the two of them last night. Smiling to herself, Dana slid out of bed and headed down stairs to her joyous family. As she walked down the hall, she noticed that all the kids were already up. As she entered the kitchen, the noticed that Fox had already taken down the Christmas decorations from the attic. "Mama!" Heather squealed when Dana entered the kitchen. She kissed each child on the head, then went to her husband who was frying eggs. "Good morning sweetheart," Fox said as they shared a kiss. "Eww!" All of the kids but Heather yelled, "cooties!" Heather felt left out so she copied her brothers and sister. "Ew! Cooies!" Everyone laughed at her, but she did not know why. "Mommy! Daddy said that we could decorate the tree today!" Mandy exclaimed getting up to give her dirty dishes to Fox. Dana poured her some coffee then turned to her daughter. "And we will sweetie. I will even let you put on the star!" Mandy squealed with delight as she ran out of the room.
After the kids finished with breakfast, Fox finished with Dana's breakfast. Dana had been feeding Heather when he took Dana her breakfast. "Honey! You did not have to make me breakfast!" Dana exclaimed kissing him on the cheek. "You are worth it love!" Fox said as he wiped food off that Heather had spit up. He picked up the spoon to feed her, but Heather exclaimed. "Dada! Lemme do it!" As she took the spoon and tried to feed herself. She was unsuccessful and splattered cereal on her face. Fox and Dana smiled at her daughter and all she did was laugh.
"The tree looks perfect!" Fox exclaimed as Rich, Adam and him examined it fully equipped now with decorations. "Almost perfect." Dana said, "Mandy has to put the star on to make it perfect." Fox put Mandy on his shoulders and she placed the star on the top of the tree. Everyone applauded, even Heather who was bouncing around in her walker.
"Mom! Do I have to wear this tie?" Rich complained. ""Rich Thomas! Christmas portraits is just one of the most important photographs you will take in your life!" Dana exclaimed. Dana finished with the tie and looked her son over. "Now you look very handsome! Go and tell Adam to come here!" Rich ran to go and find his brother. "Dana! Fix my tie!" Fox said entering the room. "You are as helpless as your sons!" "But you love me anyway!" "Of course!" Dana said lightly kissing him, "where's Mandy and Heather?" "Playing in Mandy's room," Fox said. "Yes mom?" Adam said interrupting them. "Come here Adam." Dana said, "Fox will you make sure Mandy and Heather do not mess each other up." "Sure thing!" "Adam! Let me fix your tie."
"Okay parents, let's have you sit down on the benches in front of the Christmas tree," the photographer said guiding Fox and Dana, "mom you hold the little one." When he was finished arranging, Fox and Dana were sitting down holding Heather, Mandy was on Fox's knee, Adam standing to Fox's right and Rich to Dana's left. "Perfect, now give me a big smile!"
"Wow! Santa came!" Fox and Dana awoke to screams and laughter coming from downstairs on Christmas morning. "What time is it?" Dana mumbled into her husband's chest. "Six A.M," Fox answered, "let's get out there." "We need to be at my mom's by noon." Dana said rolling out of bed. "No problem!" Fox said slipping on his robe. Dana stopped in Heather's room and picked her up from her crib. "Come on sweetheart! Let's go see what Santa left!"
"Mommy! Look what I got!" Mandy exclaimed when her parents walked into the living room. Fox and Dana sat down on the couch and watched their children.
Fox and Dana arrived at Maggie's just a little past noon. Bill and his whole family were there and Charlie and his whole family was there as well. Rich and Adam immediately went off to find their cousin Jake, who was Bill's only son and Charlie's ten-year-old sons, Gerald and Chase. Mandy went off to find Audrey, Charlie's six-year-old daughter. Mandy had taken Heather to play with her, although she had complained. Mandy had stopped the complaining when Dana have her 'the look.' Fox joined Bill and Charlie on the couch, the football game was just about to start. Dana went into the kitchen, where her mom, Charlie's wife, Sondra and Bill's wife Tara were. All the women began doing what all of the men expected them to do - cook! "Mom, how small do you want these tomatoes?" Dana asked Maggie as she prepared the salads. "Doesn't matter dear - just as long as they're small enough to fit in the children's mouth." Dana laughed. "All-right!" Dana finished with the tomatoes then poured them into the salad. She then started to toss the salad. "Mama!" All of the women turned to see Heather toddle into the room, her eyes full of tears. Dana rushed over to her. "What's the matter sweetie?" "Mandy and Audrey said that I couldn't play with them!" "Why?" "I unno know!" "Audrey!" Sondra exclaimed leaving the kitchen, Dana leaving with a slightly crying Heather in her arms. "Mandy, why can't Heather play with the two of you?" Dana asked. No answer. "Audrey!" Sondra exclaimed. "She was getting in the way!" Mandy said helplessly. "She's two! Let her do what she wants! Do not ruin Christmas by being mean! Do I make myself clear?" Dana scolded. "Yes ma'am." Mandy and Audrey exclaimed. Dana and Sondra turned and started back towards the kitchen, but Fox grabbed Dana's wrist as she walked by. She knelt down beside him. "Everything okay?" "Yeah fine!" Fox lightly kissed her then said, "Good, now get me a beer!" Dana stood and pushed him slightly. "Get it yourself buster!" It was halftime anyhow, so Fox got up and followed Dana into the kitchen. "Smells good in here ladies!" he exclaimed grabbing a bear from the fridge, "keep up the good work!" "For once, I would love to see one of you guys unglue from the television and help with Christmas dinner!" Tara exclaimed as she took the stuffing from oven. Fox took a swing of beer and was about to respond, but Charlie and Bill walked in. "We wouldn't want to break the tradition!" Bill exclaimed. "There's no tradition Bill!" Maggie exclaimed putting the turkey into the fryer. "Of course there is mom! It is the same every year - women cook, men eat, and then women clean!" Every women threw a dishrag at him. "Come on! It is a war zone in here!" Fox exclaimed. All the men left to finish watching the game.
"Dinner's served!" Maggie exclaimed an hour later. All the men and children came rushing to the table. When they were seated the ladies began bring the food out. "Food!" Heather exclaimed in her high chair next to Fox. Everyone laughed and she had no idea why, but started laughing with them, becoming confused when they laughed even harder. When all of the food was on the table, the women took their seats next to their husbands. "Bill, would you mind saying the blessing?" Bill prayed and then they enjoyed a home cooked meal.
"All-right! I believe that was the last present!" Maggie exclaimed, "Merry Christmas everyone!" "Not quite!" Fox said and everyone looked at him. He walked over to Dana and sat down next to her, "there's one left." Fox pulled out a gray box and handed it to her. "Merry Christmas honey." Dana beamed brightly at her husband and opened the box. She sucked in all of the breath around her as she looked at the box's contents. "Fox, it's beautiful!" She breathed taking it out. It was a sterling silver bracelet with six birthstones and diamonds along the trim. "The stones belong to you, me, Adam, Rich, Mandy and Heather." "Dana! Let us see!" Sondra exclaimed. Dana passed the bracelet to Sondra then turned back to her husband. "Fox, you spoil me," she whispered, "I love you so much!" The bracelet came back to Dana and Fox put it on her wrist. "Anything for my baby!" Dana threw her arms around Fox's neck and kissed him on the lips. "Mommy, why is Auntie Dana eating Uncle Fox's mouth?" Audrey asked. Everyone started laughing and Sondra almost choked on her drink.
Fox, Dana and all of their loving children arrived home at about eleven o'clock that night. The kids instantly went to sleep. Dana walked into her bedroom and smiled at what she saw. There were rose petals all over the bed and soft music was playing. "Fox!" she said smiling as she closed and locked the door. Fox came out of the bathroom with a smile on his face. All he was wearing were red silk boxers and that was it. He approached her and started singing with the music.
"For all the times you stood by me "For every dream you made come true Dana smiled up at her husband and he leaned down and lightly kissed her. Dana laid her hear against his chest as he continued to serenade her. "You were my strength with I was weak "Lifted me up when I could not reach Fox stopped singing and enjoyed the way it felt to have his arms around his wife. As the song ended, Dana looked up at her husband with teary eyes. "Fox, that was so romantic. Do you know how happy you make me? You are my touchstone, my constant. I will always love you." "Dana, I love you more than life itself. You have given me something I would have never imagined - a wonderful family with beautiful children and gorgeous and loving bride." Dana smiled up and Fox and they both leaned in for a kiss. Fox then picked up Dana and carried her to their bed.
Moments later they lay in bed in one another's arms lightly kissing and caressing. "Merry Christmas Fox, I love you." "I love you too Fox - more than you will ever know." The End
Ending note: I would love to think Chris Carter for creating the best show on television. The X-Files will always remain a phenomenal creation. I now would absolutely love to think David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson for their beautiful talents in molding Mulder and Scully's characters. Thanks for nine great years you guys! Bravo!!!
