Notes: I thought of it last year in my Psychology class during one of the teachers lectures. Hope you guys like it.

"Mark, it's too soon!" Corrin Sabson screamed at her husband.

"Corrin it's been two years. I don't see why we can't change this room." It had been a debate over whether or not they should convert Richard's room into a study.

"Mom, I..." their daughter, Katherine, started to say.

"Not now Katie!" they both yelled.

Katherine watched them argue from the doorway to her room. Her brother had been eight when he was taken. Corrin thought he was still alive, she still had hope that one day he would bounce back through the door and start to play in the kitchen like he used to. It had been two years since that night. Katherine had only been twelve.

"Mark, I just think he's still out there, somewhere, and he'll come home soon."

"Corrin, you know as well as I the odds against him ever coming home again. That man that came here last year asking questions, what was his name, Boulder, Smo..."

"Mulder, Fox Mulder," Katie murmured from the doorway.

"Him, he said that abducties are either returned within a few weeks or, chances were that they would never be returned directly to their home again."

"I think..." Katie started. They both waved her silent. Katie went into her room and clicked on the light. She then pushed a button an a small remote control on her desk. Her radio came on. Suddenly a bright light flooded the room. Katie reached for her sunglasses. She heard her parents slowly fall to the floor.

When they awoke they were in a small black room. Corrin was the first to open her eyes. She looked around the room, for some reason it felt familiar. There was no furniture except for the two chairs they were sitting in. Then they saw the person. All grey, it stood up.

"I see you're awake." It gurgled. It's large grey head seemed way to big for it's body. It had huge black, cold eyes on it's face, barely a nose and a small mouth which hadn't moved when it spoke.

Corrin and Mark attempted to move but their hands and feet were tied to the chairs they were sitting in. The thing looked at each of them and then went to the corner where it had been sitting. It bent down and then came back to them with it's hands behind it's back.

"What are you going to do to us?" Mark asked.

"Remember this?" The thing pulled it's right hand from behind it's back. A small brown fuzzy object came into view.

"Richard's teddy bear!" Corrin gasped. "What did you do to him?"

"You want to know?"

"Yes!"

The thing pulled out it's other hand until Corrin and Mark saw the small revolver. The thing pointed it at Marks chest and fired. Mark didn't get a chance to scream. He murmured but his head soon fell limp. Corrin screamed.

"I think it's less painful the way poor little Richard got it." The thing said.

It pointed the gun at Corrin's head and shot her between the eyes. The thing looked at their dead bodies for almost and hour before it spoke.

"Poor little Richard. Poor little Mark. Poor little Corrin. All together now." It paused and then threw it's head back and laughed. A loud horrid laugh.

Agent Mulder had not bothered to explain to agent Scully why they were leaving to Exeland, Wisconsin and she decided, by the look on his face, to go now, ask questions later. She was grateful that they had taken a plane though, she wasn't about to drive from Washington, DC to Wisconsin. As soon as they landed they went to the airport car rental dealer and took out a black Bronco. They started a two hour drive from the airport to their final destination, which was still unknown to Scully.

"So Mulder, care to tell me where I'm going?" she asked after ten minutes of being in the car.

"It's kind of a follow-up visit to an X-File," he said concentrating on the road.

"How romantic." She mumbled. It was only two in the afternoon and a rainstorm had just started. Welcome to Wisconsin; Scully thought grimly. She absently pushed a hand through her light auburn hair. "I know you didn't make me come all the way up here to 'check-up'"

"Not exactly Scully."

"Well what, exactly, are we here for?"

"In 1993 a boy, eight years old, was taken from his bedroom in the middle of the night. His name was Richard Sabson. The only witness was his twelve year old sister Katherine Sabson. Their parents had gone out to celebrate their thirteenth anniversary. When they got home they found Katherine huddled in corner of her room mumbling in shock."

He handed her a file. She opened it and flipped to a picture of a family. A mother holding a small boy. The father hugging the mother and a small girl standing , smiling, by herself in the front.

"And?"

"And last night the police get a call at one in the morning, from Katherine. Her parents are missing."

"Mulder the file says that the girl claimed her brother was abducted..."

"Yes."

"By aliens." Scully looked out of the window at a sign they passed. "I'm guessing the girl claims the same of her parents."

"Why would you say that?"

"You're here aren't you?"

"You catch on quick." He grinned

"When have I ever been slow?" Mulder smiled again at her as they pulled up to a house.

They heard a scream from inside the house. Quickly they both got out of the car and ran to the front of the house. Scully signaled to Mulder she'd go around to the back. He got low and and he heard another scream. He tried the door knob, it was unlocked. He opened the door, pointed his gun inside and heard another scream. He was going to run inside when he realized it was a playful scream.

"Stop!" Then a giggle. Katherine came rushing into the room. She spotted Mulder and ran to hug him. Two uniformed men came in behind her and looked at him with questioning glances. A moment later Scully walked in behind them, gun pointed. Mulder took out his badge and waved Scully's gun down. Scully passed the two men, who jumped in shock, as Mulder told them they were FBI.

"Mulder?" Scully asked pointing to the girl clinging to his waist.

"Katherine." Mulder pulled her away from him. Her light brown hair fell softly, just above her shoulders. Her face was beat red from running around. She, a mere five feet tall, looked up at him smiling. He turned her around. She looked Scully up and down.

"Girlfriend?" she asked.

"No." Mulder answered. Before he could continue Katherine asked,

"Why not?" She looked up at him. Mulder looked at Scully.

"She's my partner in the FBI."

"She's pretty, you're not dating her?" Mulder shook his head 'no'. "Are you sick?"

"That's enough of that," Mulder said covering Katherine's mouth. She took his hands off and giggled. "Katherine Sabson, this is my partner Scully."

"Hi," Scully said. Katherine put her hand out and Scully shook it. Katherine looked Scully in the eye.

"Got a first name Scully?"

"Dana."

"Got a middle name Dana Scully?"

"Katherine." For a moment Katherines eyes lit up.

"Cool," she said. Then she turned to Mulder and whispered, "Can you get the cops out of here?" Scully turned but the two men had gone back into the kitchen to drink the coffee she had smelled when she passed through.

"Why would you want me to get rid of them?" Mulder asked.

"They're no-brainers. Their idea of fun is sitting down. Besides, I like you." She turned to Scully. "I like her." She turned back to Mulder. "Please." She pleaded.

"Are they supposed to stay the night?"

"I think that they are supposed to stay a few days until they figure out that they can't find my parents, or until they find me a decent home."

"Scully, you wouldn't mind staying here a few nights instead of a motel?"

"No." She was actually relieved. Mulder always picked their motels and he had a knack for picking the worst one in town.

"Yes!" Katherine shrieked. "Get rid of them." She ordered Mulder. He walked into the kitchen and told the two men that he and agent Scully would watch Katherine the night.

Mulder walked with the men out the front door. Katherine sat in a chair and motioned for Scully to sit in the couch. Scully looked at the girl. Katherine looked at her own two feet dangling below her. She fiddled with a small hole in her blue jeans and then tugged on the collar of her green sweater. Scully watched the girl; why was she so nervous? Katherine licked her already moist, dark red lips. She murmured something over and over to herself. Scully blushed when she finally heard what the girl was saying,

"Dana Mulder, Dana Katherine Mulder, Dana Scully Mulder." She paused. "Dana Katherine Scully Mulder." She wrinkled her small nose at that name. Katherine looked up at Scully's red face. "Oh sorry. It's just that Fox said I was way too young for him the last time he was here and I just, well, I wanted, I want him to be happy."

"Fox?" Scully questioned. Katherine nodded. "He doesn't like to be called Fox."

"Well I guess he made an exception." Mulder walked into the living room.

"Speak of the devil." Scully murmured. Katherine laughed.

"What?" Mulder asked.

"Nothing." Scully answered. Mulder sat down on the couch next to Scully.

"Katie we need to ask you a few questions." Mulder told her.

"About my parents?" Katherine asked. The smile on her face was quickly replaced with a frown. Mulder nodded to her.

"Did you see the person who took your parents?" Mulder asked

"Yes." Katherine let her head slump down.

"Can you describe him?"

"It wasn't a him." She shook her head slowly.

"It was a girl?" Scully asked.

"No, it wasn't a girl, or a boy. It was, it was an it. No gender." Her facial features contorted to a look of confusion.

"What did it look like?" Mulder asked.

"Small, five feet tall. It was all grey, or dressed in grey. It had two big eyes on the head over it's nose, which was barely a nose at all, just two holes and a bump of skin. It had a slit for a mouth but it didn't use that to talk." She paused to wipe a tear from her eye. "When it spoke it gurgled like, it sounded like a computer or something."

"Anything else you might want to tell us about the night that might be important in any way Katherine?" Scully asked.

"My parents were arguing."

"About what?"

"My father wanted to change Richard's room to a study but my mom wanted to keep it the same. She still thinks that Richard will come home..."

"You don't think he will?"

"I think he's dead." She looked up at Scully.

"Why would you think that?"

"Just a feeling," she said shrugging her shoulders.

"What else happened, after the argument?"

"My father wanted to change the room, like I said. I tried to tell my parents my opinion, that I agree with the study idea, but they told me to shut up. I went into my room and I turned on my radio. When I turned it on a bright light came into my room. I walked out to the door and I saw the thing, dragging my parents."

"Why didn't you do anything?" Mulder asked shifting his body to the edge of the couch.

"I was paralyzed. I fell to the floor and all I could do was scream for them to come back, but they couldn't hear me, they couldn't come back." She rubbed her sleeve across her cheeks, taking away the tears that streamed her face. Scully watched this child. It was amazing. She had been all smiles just a few moments ago and now she was covered in her own tears.

"What happened next?"

"I blacked out. When I came to I was lying in the doorway. I called the police and told them that my parents had been taken. They searched the woods behind the house and found nothing."

"How long were you out?" Scully asked.

"Two days." Scully's eyes widened.

"You went two days without food or water?" she asked.

"Yes. First thing the cops did was call an ambulance, which shot me with a sedative and then they force fed me." Mulder didn't like to see Katherines depressed expression. To try and lighten her up he asked,

"Ok Katherine, where do we sleep?"

"Upstairs." She stood up and took Mulder and Scully upstairs. Katherine quickly showed Scully her own room and then led the both of them to her parents room.

"I sleep here?" Scully asked.

"Yeah. Why, don't you like it?" She sniffed.

"It's beautiful, but it's your parents room, you sure you want me in here?"

"Yeah." She took Mulder to a room down the hall. It wasn't very big and it seemed pretty empty.

"Scully gets the big, fancy room and I get this?" Mulder told her sarcastically.

"Sorry." Katherine shrugged.

"I really think I should sleep elsewhere. There's another room I could stay in at the end of the hall here," Scully said from the hall.

"No!" Katherine ran out of the room and to Scully who was already in another room, Richard's room. Scully looked at Katherine, confused. Katherine took Scully's arm and pulled her gently out of the room.

"Why not?"

"Dana, this is Richard's room. If my parents came back they'd be mad if they saw you in Richard's room. Besides the bed is too small."

"Ok, calm down." Scully walked towards Mulder.

"I'm going to take a bath now. You two will be ok alone right?" Katherine said. They both nodded. "I'm gonna go now." She smiled slightly walking to the bathroom.

After Katherine had gone to sleep Mulder and Scully took turns taking baths. At five after ten Scully sat on her bed in Katherine's parents room. Mulder walked into the room and Scully asked him,

"So was it like this two years ago?"

"Not exactly. I didn't spend the night, she was younger and her shock was so bad that she could hardly speak to anybody, and you were not here."

"Do you think the same person who took her little brother took her parents?"

"From her description, yes."

"You mean you think that it was a person, Mulder, and not an extraterrestrial?"

"To be honest, I'm really not sure. I went out into the forest when her brother was taken and there was no evidence of alien abduction. I asked her if it could have been a person but she said, 'people don't come in UFO's'. Tomorrow I want to go out to see if there was anything that the police missed."

"Tomorrow." She paused. "How did she know it was a UFO?"

"The lights."

"An elaborate hoax." She smiled.

"Scully." He frowned.

"I'm serious. If a child says that she saw a UFO and there's no evidence to indicate otherwise, people search and just give up. No one bothers to go in and search thoroughly."

"But what person, kidnapper, would take the time to do all that and not demand ransom?"

"The kidnapper wants to fool everyone, he doesn't want his identity known." She paused to take a breath. "Not all kidnappers demand ransom, there are those who derive pleasure from torturing and or killing their kidnapees."

"Kidnapees, I like that Scully." He paused. "So, do you think the boy is dead?"

"I think it's highly likely."

"But then why would the kidnapper chance to blow his cover by attempting, and accomplishing, the same feat again?"

"It's a challenge for him." He glanced at Scully when she said 'him'. "Impersonal pronoun, Mulder, I am unbiased at the moment."

"Ok. In my opinion it's more challenging to endeavor a new place."

"Mulder, you're not a kidnapper."

"Opinion."

"I think it's odd that he would leave the girl."

"Maybe she'll be the next victim."

"If that's right we'll have to keep an eye on her."

"Ok."

Scully was about to shoo him out of the room when she remembered something, "Wait a minute, Mulder what about the time loss, the paralyzation?"

"That's the only thing that's making me think it as an alien abduction."

"Drugs?"

"We can't check for any, cups and dishes have all been washed."

"Mulder, the kidnapper, if he did indeed drug them, is someone the family knew."

"Why, I still haven't completely ruled out the possibility of abductions."

"Mulder, you said it yourself, no evidence of that." She paused. "The only way a person could get close enough to drug anyone is to know them."

"What if it was a person passing in the night, needing shelter."

"Shelter? It was not raining and there's a hotel just down the road."

"Injured."

"He would not have been able to get away so fast afterwards."

"Katherine said she woke up two days later."

"Mulder are you agreeing with me?"

"Exploring the possibilities," Mulder said cheerfully. Scully sighed.

"Get out." She commanded. "Tomorrow we'll ask Katherine about any visitors they may have had that night."

"Why do I have to get out?" He gave her his best puppy dog face.

"Because I'm tired of listening to you!" She pointed to the door. He got off the bed and walked out of the room. She settled into bed. She put her arm up to click off the light and Mulder popped his head back into the room.

"Good night Dana."

"Good night." He walked back out of the room. She turned off the light and went to sleep.

"Nooooo!" The scream echoed through the house. Mulder and Scully jumped out of their beds. Scully looked at the clock, eleven twenty-two. Katherine suddenly barged into Scully's room. Mulder walked in behind her. Katherine looked at both of their stunned faces and hung her head low.

"What's wrong?" Scully asked her. Katherine walked over to the bed and sat on it.

"I had a nightmare." Scully quickly glanced at Mulder who quickly caught the glance and held it a moment before kneeling down and looking at Katherine.

"What about?" he asked her holding her hands.

"There was a light." She paused and took a deep breath. "You and Scully were taken."

"Taken?" Scully questioned.

"Yes, the little grey men came and took you away, like they took my p..." Katherine could not finish the sentence. She started to cry and then buried herself in Scully's arms. Scully whispered reassuring phrases to Katherine over and over.

"Katherine?" Mulder asked.

"I don't want to go back and sleep by myself. What if they come? What if they really take you away?"

"Katherine, it's ok, they won't come." Mulder assured her.

"And if they do?"

"We'll protect you," Scully told her. Katherine looked up at Scully.

"Can I stay here, with you?"

"Sure."

"Mulder can't leave!"

"Where will he sleep?"

"In the bed." Mulder stood up.

"Katherine I don't think..."

"This bed is big enough for the three of us to sleep in it and still have room for another person."

Katherine looked from Mulder to Scully and back to Mulder. Scully looked at the frightened look on Katherines face and nodded to Mulder. He looked at Scully questioningly and she nodded again. Katherine laid in the bed and Scully got in the bed on her left. Mulder walked around and got into bed on the right. Scully clicked the light off and the three of them fell asleep shortly after.

The next morning Scully was the first one out of bed. She heard her stomach grumble so went downstairs. She looked in the fridge. She found some pancakes in the freezer and put them in the toaster. Her stomach rumbled in response to the smell of the pancakes. Scully looked through drawers until she found the syrup and the pancakes popped up out of the toaster She began to pour syrup when she heard,

"Mom?" It was Katherine coming from the stairs. Katherine walked down into the kitchen. "Mom?" She walked into the kitchen and looked at Scully. Scully looked at her frowning face.

"Want some pancakes?" No answer. "Are you ok Katherine?"

"I'm fine, it's just my mother always ate pancakes in the morning and for a minute there, I, I thought she had come back." She pulled up a stool and sat watching Scully eat.

"Katherine, the night they took your parents, did you have any visitors?"

"Only the little men."

"No humans?"

"No."

When Mulder awoke ten minutes later he ate pancakes with Katherine. Then the three of them got dressed. Mulder wanted to go out to the forest right then. It was ten thirty-five when they finally got out to the forest. Katherine held Scully's hand as they went through. Mulder looked at everything, the trees, the animals, the dirt. He found nothing. At least nothing that would make them decide which theory to follow.

"Mulder?" Scully asked at eleven twenty-seven.

"Nothing."

"Does this mean you don't know where my parents are?" Katherine asked.

"Sorry Katie, but right now we have two possible answers as to where your parents might be and neither can be ruled out or justified by what we've seen." Mulder answered.

Scully saw, beyond them, a small shed.

"Mulder." She pointed toward it.

"That's my shed." Katherine informed them.

"Maybe the person who took your parents is in there." Mulder said.

"I seriously doubt that." Katherine told him. "It has a padlock."

"People break padlocks," Scully said.

Mulder put a finger over his lips signaling both of them to be quiet. He and Scully pulled their guns from their backs and advanced to the shed. Katherine had let go of Scully's hand but was now gripping Scully's jacket from behind. They reached the shed and Katherine gasped and looked up at Scully when she saw the padlock had been broken. Mulder told Scully to cover him as he kicked the door open. Scully looked to the right and Mulder looked to the left. Both of them scanning for movement. The floor and walls concrete, grey. There was junk all over the place. Old dolls, magazines, broken toys.

"Sorry it's unkept, but I haven't been in here a while."

"So we see," Mulder said.

"What do you do in here?" Scully asked.

"Everything. I come here to think, I come here to read, to write, and occasionally, to play." Mulder picked up a teddy bear that was lying on a small table. The stuffing of the belly was all hanging out. "I come in here to vent anger."

"Do you get angry a lot?" Mulder said nodding his head to a few decapitated dolls lying in a corner.

"No, not really, I did that when Richard was taken. I really haven't cleaned it up yet, quess I'm lazier than I thought." She looked around the room.

"The floors are clean," Scully whispered to Mulder.

"What?" Mulder looked at her, confused.

"Katherine, can Mulder and I have a moment alone?" Scully looked at Katherine.

"Sure," she said suspiciously. She walked out of the shed and Scully walked over to the door.

"Mulder, someone has been in here recently. Someone who didn't want anyone to see what happened. Someone who cleaned the floor."

"Scully?"

"Mulder this may be where her parents were taken. They may have been killed here and their bodies are buried in the forest."

"Scully give me one good reason I should even pay attention to what you just said."

"Because someone forgot to clean between the cracks" She pointed down to a long thin crack in the floor under one of the wooden tables. Mulder kneeled down to get a closer look. There was a red-brown substance running the length of the crack.

Katherine stood outside the shed throwing rocks at a bird when Scully and Mulder came out.

"What happened?" she asked. Mulder and Scully exchanged glances.

"We found some blood," Scully told her.

"Where?"

"In a crack in the floor."

"You going to have it examined?"

"Yes, we have to call locals to get a sample. Although it could just be the blood of some dead animal."

"Oh." Katherine looked at the floor and picked up a rock. She looked at it.

"Well we have to go home now," Mulder said.

"Go on ahead, I'll be right behind you." Mulder and Scully began to walk when they heard a loud scream. They both jumped around.

"Katherine?" Mulder called.

"Tension breaker!" She yelled. Mulder shrugged to Scully and they walked a few more feet. To where they could see Katherine, but Katherine could not see them.

"Damn." Katherine murmured to herself. She bounced the rock in one hand and looked at a bird perched on a tree ten feet away. She looked at it and then threw the rock. The bird made a pitiful screech before in fell to the floor. "Damn." Katherine said again.

She met up with Mulder and Scully and the three of them walked back to the house. Katherines eyes seemed glazed over with a sheet of water. Mulder, twice on the way back, had asked her if she was ok. She answered yes. Scully repeated to her that it was probably the blood of an animal that had died in the shed but Katherine kept shaking her head refusing to believe them. She knew it was her parents blood.

They got to the house and Scully threw her jacket on the couch. "Coffee, I need coffee," she said stretching.

"Sit down, I'll make some for you." Katherine said.

"Mulder?" Scully questioned. He had turned towards the door.

"Don't you want coffee?" Katherine asked him.

"Sorry, save me some. I have to go back out there. I know I missed something."

"But Fox, I make the best coffee in the world!" Katherine came out of the kitchen holding a spoon.

"Katherine, I know, I'll be back." He walked out and Katherine went back to the kitchen.

Mulder went back to the forest, back to the shed. He walked in and looked at the blood. He looked at the stuff thrown under the tables. He looked at the stuff thrown onto the tables. He looked at the stuff thrown in the corners of the small room. Everything was so messy. He began to remove the stuff from under the tables to see what was behind them. He piled magazines from under the table in neat stacks in the middle of the room. He went clockwise around the room.

From the first table to the right of the door he pulled out more broken toys, books, some music tapes of groups he had never heard. The second table had a large broken spotlight. The cables had been severed, it would not work. Where would Katherine get it? Her father was a technician, he could have gotten it for her if she wanted it, but why? She collected junk.

He moved to the third table.

A dirty grey baggy shirt. He pulled out a few more dolls which were mutilated in several different ways. He pulled out a few pictures of the family with several dart holes in them. All kids get mad at their families once in a while; he thought. He took out a few race cars, they must have belonged to Richard.

The fourth table.

A pair of grey leather gloves. Mulder counted fifteen books on UFO abductions and other related phenomena's. A pair of black leather gloves and a decapitated teddy bear.

The fifth table.

Mulder pulled out a trunk. It was small, two feet by one. He looked at the lock. He reached over and grabbed a dirty crow bar from the second table and pried the trunk open. An object was wrapped in a large black cloth. He pulled out the object, his breath caught in his throat. An alien mask. He started to turn it slowly around when another smaller object fell out of the mask. He took his cellular out of his jacket pocket as he unwrapped the object.

A gun.

Neither Katherine nor Scully heard the phone because all of the ringers in the house were turned off. On Katherine's insistence, Scully drank two cups of coffee. Scully offered some to Katherine, but she declined, saying that she didn't drink coffee. They now sat in the living room looking at photo's of Katherine's family. Scully felt odd as she listened to Katherine ramble on and on about her family history. She didn't feel odd about hearing it, she had a funny feeling of light headedness.

They came to a photo -- Halloween 92'. In the photo Katherine stood with Richard. Richard was smiling, dressed as Casper the friendly ghost. Katherines' hands were at her head, balancing the alien mask she wore. Scully looked at the next photo. Richard, the ghost, with his two parents, who were dressed as vampires.

"Didn't they take one with you?" Scully asked.

"No."

"Why not?"

"They didn't want to. Richard looked so cute and I was, well I was the alien." Scully could not speak. She felt her eyes grow too heavy to keep them open anymore. As she fell to the floor she heard Katherine say,

"The alien killed the ghost, the alien killed the vampires."

Mulder ran blindly through the forest. He stripped himself of his jacket because it had become a burden. It caught every branch and held him back. He mumbled to himself as he ran,

"I cannot believe it. My God she did it, Katherine killed her family." Although he did not know of what motive she could have done it under, he knew that she was going to get rid of the evidence, the blood. Scully and him were the only one's to know about it and she was going to kill them. Katherine was going to kill Scully and he had left her there with Katherine. He knew Scully could take care of herself but he had to worry. If Katherine could, somehow, overpower her parents, she could overpower Scully.

He tripped on a rock and fell on his face. He got back up and kept running. Mulder hit the front door. He backed up and opened it. He stopped when he saw Scully sitting in a chair. Her head hung low to a side, she was asleep. Her feet were tied to the legs of the chair and her hands were tied behind her back. She had a strip of tape on her mouth. He took a step forward.

"Scully," he said. He had only begun to turn slightly to look behind him when Katherine brought the pan down hard on his head with a loud clang.

Mulder awoke to find himself tied to a chair. Scully slept next to him in another chair. He looked around. They were still in the living room. Katherine bounced down the stairs swinging Mulder's gun in her hand.

"You're awake," she said happily. He attempted to speak but his mouth was covered in tape. Katherine walked over to him and jerked a hand up quickly. She stripped the tape off of his mouth slowly.

"Why?" he asked.

"Why not." She answered seriously. She pulled up another chair in front of them. He looked to Scully. "She takes well to Valium." Katherine told him.

Katherine tilted Scully's head up with one hand. Katherine got up out of the chair. She slapped Scully, hard. Scully's eyes blinked open, widely. She struggled for a moment and then her body fell limp. She looked from Katherine to Mulder. Katherine pulled the tape off Scully's mouth in a quick, single movement.

"Together again." Katherine told them.

"Why did you kill your brother?" Mulder asked.

"They paid all of their attention to him! And for what, he used them! I did everything I was told, and for what? Nothing! They rewarded him and treated me like a rag!" She screamed, pointing the gun around the room.

"How did you do it, how did you kill your parents?"

"Valium. I slipped some into their drinks and when they were falling asleep I turned on the lights and then I took them out to the shed and I killed them."

"Is that how it was for Richard?" Scully asked groggily.

"No, it was a bit easier. My parents had gone out. I whacked him over the head, took him to my shed, shot him in the head, and buried him under the shed." Katherine said this with no emotion. She sat down.

"Is that where your parents are buried?"

"Yep, all together again. You know, for FBI agents, you're not to smart. I mean I expected more out of you Mulder."

"Oh," he said. He could see Scully's worried face out of the corner of his eye. He wanted to tell her it would be ok but he needed to keep Katherine talking.

"Yeah, you should have figured it out earlier. I was afraid you would."

"Why the lights, with your parents?" Mulder asked her.

"It makes everything all the more exiting." She pointed the gun at her own head. "It's a lot more fun that doing this. Bang!" She rolled her eyes. "My family was a pain in the ass, killing yourself is a wimp out."

"So killing them is big."

"Adrenaline rush, I'd call it." She toyed with the gun. Scully kept a tense eye on it and another eye on Mulder; what the hell was he doing?

"Are you going to kill us?"

"In a rush? Ok." She pointed the gun at Mulder's head. "So Scully, anything you want to say?" She smiled at Scully and quickly stopped when she saw Scully was smiling to an unseen figure behind her back. "What?" She whipped the gun away from Mulder and swung it around. She got to fire one shot at the wall before an officer shot her in the shoulder. She dropped the gun and fell to the floor. Ten other men came in and a three untied Mulder and Scully. Then a two paramedics came in and took Katherine's body away in a stretcher. Scully quickly went over to Mulder when they finished untieing them.

"You knew they were coming?" she asked.

"You think I would keep you in suspense like that if they weren't?"

"Yes."

"Scully." He frowned.

"How did you figure it out?"

"I went back to the shed. I started to look through all the stuff. I found a grey shirt, a pair of grey gloves and an alien mask. She was living out some sort of fantasy. She honestly believed that an alien killed her family, but the alien was her. She felt alienated in this family, because they treated her as if she didn't exist."

X-File number 3825289. Agent Scully and I went to Exeland, Wisconsin to investigate a possible double alien abduction. We never suspected that the person who made the claim would have been the person who killed the supposed abductees. We never expected ourselves to have been kidnapped by the claimer. We never thought that the claimer would put a gun to our heads and threaten to shoot. But in Exeland all is not as it seems. Katherine Sabson murdered her family and attempted to murder us. She, herself, was shot in the process.

Katherine Sabson recovered from the bullet wound to the shoulder in a matter of months. She was sent to a psychiatric facility where she could be treated for her illness. The officials say that she has no disease, that can only classify her as a psychopath. She has not had any emotional reaction to the killings of her brother, mother and father. The bodies of the three family members were dug up a week after. Psychiatrists have said that Katherine sits in her rubber padded cell all day long and brags to unseen spirits about how she killed them. The staff is forced to assume that she is talking to her deceased family.

I have no answer to this mystery. Katherine seemed the good daughter. Always at the beck and call of her parents. It only occurred to me recently that when I first opened the case her parents had ignored her and regarded her as crazy and or stupid. Although this is no reason to kill it is surprising to me that it is the sole reason that she did. X-File number 3825289 re-opened by agent Fox Mulder, is now closed.

Ok, so I'm not the greatest at those end speeches. This is the only one I've done. Please tell me what you think. Mystic: Well, it looked normal this time. Is the length the reason that people post some stories in a million parts? If so, I'm going to have to start postin my stories in two parts. They only get longer after this. :)
