Take Two Challenge

You challenge is to pair up two other challenges that are on The Nursery Files by combining as many of the requirements for both as is plausible for a story (the more you can use of each the better, though). Any two challenges you like, and make the result as sweet, scary, funny or angstful as you like.

You can combine any two challenges on your own, or borrow one of the match ups below and make it your own.

Will you:

• Have Scully give birth during the covid-19 pandemic to triplets on the worst Labor Day of her life?
  
• Have Father's Day lunch interupted by by the unexpected arrival of the smoking man and Monica Reyes' teenage son at their door?
  
• Have Luke Doggett tease his stepmother during Thanksgiving dinner?
  
• Have a first Easter Egg Hunt have Mulder lament having missed the same event when William was little?
  
• Have Scully's younger sister have a hair-raising adventure while accompanying Scully and Mulder on a summer family vacation?
  
• Have Luke or Emily show up alive and reasonably well one Christmas, just after their parents welcomed a new baby?
  
• Have Mulder and Scully's younger child accompany them to DC when they return to the X-Files?
  
• Have William discover that his older brother was dropped off to be raised by a distraught Mulder while Scully was missing?
  
• Have Mulder and Gibson stumble over a case of a child's fear not being imaginary while they're hiding out together during season nine?
  
• Have the child of a Lone Gunman be the surprising result of a male pregnancy?
  
• Have a child's desire for a pet lead to a Halloween encounter with a black cat?
  
• Have Scully tell Mulder that they're expecting a baby while hunting for Missy's ghost?
  
• Have William and Emily celebrate William's 18th Birthday together?
  
• Have a grumpy genie grant Mulder another wish that leads him to be accused of kidnapping a baby from a manger scene?
  
• Have a season nine missing scene show Scully's bittersweet first Halloween with William...but not Mulder?
  
• Have Mulder and Scully head to lamaze class...and unexpectely lend a hand when a classmate goes into labor?
  
• Have Mulder and Scully spend a happy Thanksgiving with William and family just after moving into a new home?
  
• Have Scully experience mixed feelings about discovering she's pregnant post-IWTB until she reunites with William after his adopted parents kicked him out?
  
• Have Mulder learn that the kids he saw in Amor Fati are real ... and clones of him and Krycek?
  
• Have Scully spend time in the hospital with Emily fearing the worst, only to have her live...or come back?
  
• Have keeping William lead to a discovery that he has a twin on his first day of school?
  
• Have Mulder tell William a bedtime story about a case to get him to sleep the night of his little brother's birth?
  
• Tell a tale about William surviving invasion and explaining what his 13th birthday is like a year and a half later?
  
• Have Mulder explain to William after a Christmas reunion that he has siblings because if he and Scully gave up living in fear of the future They would have won?
  
• Have Mulder and Scully spend an uneasy day with the grandchild they just discovered exists, parented by one of Emily's luckier(?) siblings?
  
• Have Doggett and Reyes adopt Gibson after the Truth and end up with a big family once they adopt or have a few more kids?
  
• Have Mulder return to Scully and William at the end of season 9 with a baby that used to be the fetus shown in "Emily"?
  
• After Mulder seems forever lost have Scully turn to someone else and have his child, but Mulder miraculously comes back and cares for her child like s/he was his own?
  
• Have Doggett and Reyes sit out IWTB because they were busy time traveling to rescue Luke from his murderer?
  
• Have Skinner and Kim hope for a nice holiday with their kids only to have her go into labor during a blizzard?
  
• Have Krycek be medically experimented on instead of dying in "Existence," resulting in him becoming pregnant with triplets?
  
• Have Skinner find a baby on his doorstep and soon worry she might not be human?
  
• Have Doggett unexpectedly finding himself watching Reyes' kids when she goes missing at Halloween during an encounter with characters from another work of fiction?
  

These are just a few suggestions of how you could mash up the other hundred-odd challenges on the site to create something new and unexpected. Use one or surprise us with an inventive combination of your own!

Special Note on Holiday challenges: If you would like to use the required elements from a holiday challenge but not set the story on the holiday itself (or the year specified), that's okay.
