The leaves are changing colors, and the night air is crisp. Soon enough we'll be seeing little trick-or-treaters running around our streets. Doesn't that get you in the mood to write a fic?

Challenge:
This challenge, set on October 31st, 2007, involves somehow incorporating all of the following things into your kidfic:
- pumpkin
- black cat (or kitten)
- * a child
- * infant or toddler
- glow stick or flashlight
- candy wrapper
- some sort of a scare/something spooky (anything mild to very frightening)

Will you go the cute route? Or take us on a scary Halloween journey? We are eagerly waiting to see if you've got a treat up your writing sleeve... or a trick.

* William or Emily are obvious choices, but both the child and the baby/toddler can be original characters and/or unrelated to XF characters if you prefer.
