Gimme Shelter Challenge

Your challenge is to find inspiration in the post-series moment of time I'm about to describe.

It's still mid-afternoon but gray clouds make it seem later. To the left is a storm-tossed sea, frothy waves crashing violently on the shoreline.  A brutal wind drives needles of rain at the small group trying to make their way across the rocky beach. It's been raining for hours and they've been outside long enough that their clothes are plastered to their skin. Scully grimly struggles to keep her baby girl's face dry as she carries her in her arms.

Just behind her, William, now the nearly grown teenager we saw in season 11, isn't doing much better because he's trying to lead his brother, several years younger than him but too big to carry, safely around the trip hazards studding the wet sand. His task is made more difficult by the rain neither of them can keep out of their eyes.

Some sort of shelter is within sight, but even though it seems like they'll reach it okay, Scully is desperately worried: where is Mulder??

While the wording can be all your own, and feel free to make the baby or toddler a boy and/or the middle child a girl, please include the gist of the above scenario within your story: a stormy beach, Scully, her 3 children, no Mulder in sight.

You'll also want to tackle the questions of:

* where did the middle child come from?

* how did they come to be on the beach during a storm?

* how and when did they get separated from Mulder?

* and how does it all work out for them?

Clearly this scene is from somewhere in the middle of a tale, so it needs both a build up to it and a resolution after :)
