My Cousin William Challenge

Your challenge is to write us an AU story in which William was given away to either Bill or Charles Scully's families (or Melissa's, if you'd like to write a really AU story) in season 9 rather than to the Van De Kamps.

Given this, William is likely especially close to one of his cousins, be that cousin Bill's son Matthew, or his older cousin who Scully noted in Home was obsessed with Babe, or an original child character who also belonged to Scully's sibling. Or do the cousins have a sibling-like rivalry?

You can set your story at any time from season 9 when William and his cousin(s) are very young to today when they're both now young adults.

Be sure to let us know if William's time with his cousin's family was short-term or if circumstances kept Mulder and Scully from taking him back so he was raised with his cousin(s).
