Since Last They Met Challenge

One thing we didn’t get with seasons 10-11 was even vague explanations about why Mulder and Scully broke up, when they broke up, or what they did while they were apart. Hmm.

Your challenge is to write a story that answers at least one of these questions. And that answer is: had a child with someone else!

In your story this Mulder/other or Scully/other relationship began at a point between The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008) and My Struggle (season 10, episode 1, in 2016). You can include as much or as little detail as you want about their time with this other person as you’d like - including none, you’re allowed to have the relationship having existed entirely before your story begins - but continue your story at least as long as to include a somewhat revised My Struggle where the X-parent has the child with him or her.

It’s up to you if the non-parent* in your tale knew about the kid…or the relationship. If they didn’t, how much will they each choose to share about their life apart?

Oh, and let us know what happened to the child’s original character mom or dad. Are they still in the picture? Waiting for Mulder or Scully back at their hotel room? Long gone? Even dead and buried?

*Note: you are allowed to have them both have children with someone else, in which case the question instead becomes: do they each know about the other’s child prior to your fic’s beginning?
