W 53rd St. of the Damned Challenge

Your challenge: tell us a tale in which once upon a time, way back in seasons one, two, or three, a mysterious phenomena happened in to Scully’s apartment building: for several hours, everyone who lived in, or was visiting or even entering the apartment building at that exact moment, fell unconscious.

After they woke up, people brushed it off as a freak gas leak. At least until weeks later when it was discovered that all of the women and teenage girls in the complex, as well as all their female visitors of childbearing age, were pregnant.

This includes both Scully and her mother or Melissa, one of whom was visiting when everyone passed out, too.

Of the two Scully women, one of them is in a committed relationship and the baby is her significant other’s. The other is carrying a fetus who is not her biological child but a shape-shifting alien implanted in her womb, as are most of the unborn children in the apartment building. Regardless of whether Scully herself is carrying a baby alien, she suspects that her run-ins with the alien bounty hunter have led to the horror her building is now experiencing…

If you would like to XF-lize the plot of Village of the Damned to its canon conclusion (or instead have a less bleak outcome for at least some of your moms!) you may, but you can also wrap up your tale shortly after Scully and Maggie or Melissa give birth to their babies. And feel free to develop as many of Scully’s also-pregnant neighbors and their families as you’d like too.
