The Orphanage Challenge

Your challenge is to write a story set any time between seasons 5 and 11 that begins like this:

Scully has been given a tip about a secret Consortium orphanage…and another child(or children) of hers like Emily being kept there, for now - chatter says that the place will soon be razed, and she’s afraid of what that means for the little ones who live there. She, along with at least one willing partner, breaks into the shadowy orphanage as your story begins. There she discovers rows of small beds or cribs; in them there are several children, babies, and/or toddlers. Some of them look like any other children, others are clearly alien-human hybrids.

At least one of the children is hers. And others are not hers.

Scully gathers up her biological offspring and just as she calls someone at the FBI or police department to come cope with the remainder of the children, she impulsively decides that she cannot leave at least one of the other children who isn’t hers behind, either.

So, making a snap decision that will change her life, she takes that other child(ren) too. As she’s rushing away with her small charges, she feels as though everything will work out.

But will it?
