The date was set, but somehow it never arrived. What if the date was just garbled and the aliens still have their sights set on earth?

Your challenge is write a story that begins between July and December of 2021. The world has been struggling with the pandemic, and even if it has gotten significantly better in the later half of 2021 there’s no time for Earth to catch its breath before They show up and begin a new chapter in terror.

Required elements:
- Aliens invade the Earth in 2021
- Include Scully and Mulder’s post-series offspring, now a toddler, as a character (s/he doesn’t have to be a focal character but developed enough to have some simple dialogue)
- A character of your choice who died at any point during the series should be revealed to still be alive
- Include a cameo of a character from one of your favorite MOTW episodes

Notes:
- You do not have to include William|Jackson in your story but you are more than welcome to
- You are also welcome to write this story as a crossover with another fandom that involves an alien invasion if you’d like to
