Love for the Lovelorn Crossover Challenge

There are several X-Files characters who just never seemed to catch a break romantically. Not even after seven years like Mulder and Scully! And you know, this is also the plight of many other characters in other stories, come to think of it. Lots of lonely hearts out in the world of fiction and it's such a shame. I think you should remedy that, dear writers. In this challenge you will play cosmic matchmaker to a pair of characters, one from The X-Files universe, and one not.

Challenge Elements

Select an X-Files character who is single either throughout the whole show like Frohike or Langly, or most of the time they're part of the series (e.g. you could use Skinner, for example, given his wife mysteriously disappeared early on, or Maggie Scully who is widowed in season one). And also select a character from another fandom - book, tv show, movie, comic, or video game* - who is similarly without a significant other for your X-Files character to fall for. Both het and slash pairings are okay.

Once you have your two characters write a story that is a crossover between The X-Files and your second character's fandom.

Give these two characters a family. In other words, they should have at least one child, or be expecting a baby. They can be happily married/living together or not...just because you're giving them a family doesn't mean that has to be true lasting love if you don't want it to be.

Any other characters from either/both fandoms can be included in your story as secondary characters.

* If you can think of another type of fandom this list overlooks - say ads and you want to set up Progressive's Flo with Frohike - you're more than welcome to use it
