Sins of the Father Challenge

Your challenge is to write about a tense situation that requires an quite possibly reluctant X-Files character to protect the innocent minor child of someone they very much dislike, if not outright hate.

For example, will you saddle Mulder with the task of keeping the preteen child of one of their past perps or consortium nemeses safe? Force Scully to defend the toddler son of Phobe Green or the young daughter of Diana Fowley? Give Krycek or Kersh the job of guarding baby William or would one of their children need Mulder and Scully's help instead? Did Teena get stuck safeguarding little Jeffery Spender?
