There are two genres I'd like to see better represented here, and this challenge gives writers the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Or one bird with one stone. Really, it's up to you.

Regardless of which option you go with, please set your story on October 31st of any year.

Bonus Round

If you'd like a bit more of a challenge, please include one or more of the following lines in your story. Minor revisions are allowed:

• "Wow, you rarely see one that big in person,"
• [character] grabbed [character 2]'s arm. "Do you think that was a badger?"
• "I should've known this would be trouble. The second I saw [insert item of your choosing], I should've known I was going to end up with a fan covered in shit."
• "Have you been drinking?"
• "Put the fucking pumpkin down!!"
• "Obviously if I knew he'd do that I wouldn't have let him mainline pixy stix all night."
• "[...]Um. That is a baby, right?"
