#55 Rosey place A grin broke out on his face too, and he hugged Dana and kissed her lips. He helped her get out of bed and tidy her hair, he called the ambulance as Dana walked around the room, practising to breathe properly. Soon the ambulance came, Fox and Dana walked down the stairs hand in hand and were greeted at the door by a nurse who called herself Irene. Irene took the suitcase from Mulder and jumbled it into the back of the ambulance, she then went to help Scully get onto a rolling bed and wheeled her into the ambulance. Mulder climbed in after Scully and sat beside her, they looked a sweet and beautiful sight, he held her hand, whispering words of smoosh that made no sense and encouraged her, telling her she was doing fine. Mulder called up her mother on his cellophane and told her what was happening, Margaret said she couldn't make it, but to tell her daughter good luck and congratulations. Scully was a little disappointed when Mulder told her that her mom couldn't make it, but at least he was there to help her along.
The ambulance rolled into the hospital driveway and the doctors and nurses wheeled Scully out. Mulder held her hand and whispered his love to her as they wheeled her through numerous hallways to the birthing room. Irene hooked Scully up to some equipment and went to prepare with the other doctors in the room. Mulder took a seat beside Scully's bed and kissed her softly. "I love you Tiger. I hope she will be as beautiful as you, what will her name be?" he asked. Between puffs Scully answered, "Melissa, Samantha, Claire?" She looked at him, silently asking for his suggestions. "Samantha definitely, Dana, Melissa, Truth?" He grinned. "Why Truth? It sounds silly, what about Samantha-Melissa Dana Scully Mulder? Sound good to you, sugar?" "Is that what you want her to be?" He gazed into her eyes searching the depths. "Yes." Dana squeezed his hand. He kissed her again. Her contractions gradually came closer together, nurses and doctors rushed in to help. Irene helped Dana into a better position and covered her with a sheet. A doctor told her to push, she did,her little face went red as she pushed with all her strength. Fox held her hand, and encouraged her to go on, Dana smiled at him in between pushes and he smiled back. The doctor delivering the baby told her to stop pushing hard and to take short breaths as the bays shoulders cam to. "You're doing fine Dana, keep going, were almost there, one last push..." Dana pushed a nurse held a sterilised towel out for the doctor to wrap the baby in. When the baby didn't cry, Dana looked worried. "Is there anything wrong with her? why isn't she crying?" she asked. A wail emitted from the tiny girl in the doctors arms. "Dana, Fox, congratulations, you are the proud parents of a healthy baby girl!" They smiled at eh doctor and then at each other, they engaged in a slow kiss for each other. A young nurse wrinkle her nose and went to help clean they little baby girl. Their kiss was broken when Irene came up to them and coughed politely. She gave the screaming parcel to Dana, who took it and offered it a drink. "thanks Irene," then she turned to Mulder. Irene smiled, they had eyes only for each-other. The couple gazed at their child as it fed on it's mother's breast, they were perfect. Simply perfect. Irene snapped a photo for them to take home with them, there would be many memories to keep of this child and their family, she was proud to have witnessed the event.
Three days later Fox, Dana, and little Samantha Melissa climbed out of the car. Fox had his arm around Dana who held his little baby girl - he was thrilled to bits, his little girl was finally here. He had one more thing for Dana and Sam up his sleeve though, hopefully they were all ready for them. Dana stood at the door turning the lock. Mulder put his hand over hers to stop her, picking her and the baby up in his arms, he carried them over the threshold. "Fox!" Dana exclaimed as she was lifted into the air. "What sweetheart? I'm taking my beautiful girls inside, home at last." He put her down inside and kissed her, slowly and passionately. Behind the couch, Margaret Scully counted to three with all the other guests, at three they all jumped from their hiding places, "WELCOME HOME!!!!" THE END
